Step 6 of 6
Edge placement
Place the four top edges to finish the cube. The corners are already lined up with the centres: count the edges that are placed. One only, three edges cycle (Ua or Ub, depending on the direction); none, they swap in pairs, across (H) or with their neighbour (Z). These are the Ua, Ub, H and Z perms of the full method.
The basic situations
Hold the cube as the hint says, then apply the formula. In the app, every formula is animated on a virtual cube.
Ua · three edges
The corners are solved and one side is complete: only three edges move. Turn U to put the complete side at the back, then finish with a turn of U if needed.
M2 U M U2 M' U M2→ piece in placeUb · three edges
The corners are solved and one side is complete: only three edges move. Turn U to put the complete side at the back, then finish with a turn of U if needed.
M2 U' M U2 M' U' M2→ piece in placeH · opposite edges
The corners are solved and each edge has to go to the opposite side. Turn U to line the corners up with the centres, then finish with a turn of U if needed.
M2 U M2 U2 M2 U M2→ piece in placeZ · adjacent edges
No edge in place: each one swaps with a neighbour, the front one with the left one, the right one with the back one. The corners stay lined up with the centres; turn the whole cube (y) if needed to match the picture.
